How to Clean a Slow Cooker or Multicooker

Clean crocks, inner pots, lids, rings, shields, valves, condensation collectors, bases, and accessories without damaging safety parts.

Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker Steam Fryer

Power off and cool

Unplug the cooker and let the appliance, food, vessel, lid, steam parts, and heating base cool. Confirm that a pressure multicooker is fully depressurized before touching the lid.

Keep the electrical base, cord, plug, control panel, and heating cavity out of water.

Wash removable cooking parts

Follow the manual for dishwasher-safe or hand-wash instructions for the crock, inner pot, lid, rack, and accessories. Avoid thermal shock to ceramic or glass.

Dry the outside of the vessel and the heating cavity before reassembly.

Inspect pressure components

Remove and clean the sealing ring, anti-block shield, steam-release parts, float valve, and condensation collector only as the exact manual permits.

Check the ring for cuts, deformation, odor, and correct seating. Replace damaged parts with compatible manufacturer-approved parts.

Clean before storage

Wipe the cooled base, rim, handles, and sensor area with the approved cloth. Make sure valves move as designed and no food blocks a steam path.

Store a pressure lid in the recommended position rather than trapping odor and moisture in a sealed pot.
