Document existing stains, damage, and wear before cleaning or moving furniture. Send important issues through the housing office's move-in condition process.
Clean in this order
- Wipe the desk, shelves, drawer interiors, and window ledge
- Clean the most-handled surfaces without mixing chemicals
- Vacuum edges, under the bed, and inside the closet
- Spot-clean carpet only after checking the flooring and housing rules
- Let damp surfaces dry before unpacking fabric and bedding
Keep the kit small
A microfiber cloth, gentle all-purpose cleaner, trash bags, paper towels, and a compact vacuum attachment handle most move-in jobs. Pack them where they can be reached before everything else is unloaded.
