Minute 0-3: scan the sources

Check for smoke, fragrance devices, damp materials, dusty litter, dirty pet bedding, and cooking residue. Removing or correcting a source is usually more effective than asking a filter to manage it indefinitely.

Look at outdoor AQI and weather before opening windows. Ventilation helps when outdoor air is cleaner and conditions are safe; it can hurt during smoke, heavy pollen, or extreme humidity.

Minute 3-10: clean settled material

Use a damp microfiber cloth on hard surfaces, working from higher areas downward. Vacuum floors and upholstery with effective filtration rather than sending fine dust back into the room.

Keep purifier intakes away from the immediate cleaning plume. Let dust settle briefly, then run the purifier at a higher tolerable speed.

Minute 10-15: check airflow

Make sure curtains, furniture, laundry, and walls do not block the intake or outlet. Wipe the exterior and sensor openings only as the manual directs.

Check the prefilter for visible hair and lint. Clean it using the manufacturer's method, and record anything that will need attention during the monthly reset.
