Work from the pet outward

Wash or vacuum pet bedding using its care instructions, clean litter and feeding areas, and address accidents promptly. Groom pets using appropriate veterinary or breed guidance.

Wipe paws after outdoor time when practical and use washable mats at entrances. These steps reduce what enters the room before filtration begins.

Clean surfaces without redistributing dust

Damp-wipe hard surfaces and vacuum upholstery and floors with effective filtration. Move slowly enough that the vacuum captures material rather than throwing it into the air.

Keep the purifier running at a higher tolerable speed during and after cleaning, but do not place its intake where it will pull in clumps of loose fur.

Protect the main filter

Inspect an approved washable or vacuumable prefilter frequently. Hair loading can reduce airflow well before a filter-change light reacts.

Treat persistent odor as a source-control problem first. Carbon media has limited capacity, and fragrance does not remove the pollutant causing the smell.

Safety note: For persistent allergy or respiratory symptoms, seek qualified medical advice; a purifier does not diagnose or treat the cause.
