Dry the base area, route the cord away from the counter edge, and confirm that the lid, handle, spout, and body show no damage.
Empty stale water unless the manufacturer directs otherwise and use fresh cold water.

Reset the station, measure the batch, select the drink temperature, and prepare a safe landing zone before heating.
Measure the real batch
Fill only the amount needed while staying between the model's MIN and MAX marks. Set out the mug, teapot, press, or brewer before heating.
A measured batch reduces waiting and avoids carrying an unnecessarily heavy kettle.
Choose, heat, and pour
Select the drink's starting temperature, close the lid, seat the kettle on its base, and start the cycle.
When ready, lift by the handle and pour away from people, electronics, and the counter edge.
Safety note: Never top up a hot kettle while it remains on a live base, and keep hands clear of the spout and lid steam path.
