Plan the water
Add enough water for the coffee recipe plus the small preheat amount, without exceeding MAX or falling below MIN.
Set the dripper and mug securely before the kettle is hot.

Use a small first pour to warm the brewer and serving vessel before the measured coffee water.
Warm the equipment
Pour a controlled amount through the empty brewer or filter into the mug. Let it warm the surfaces briefly.
Discard the preheat water safely and confirm the mug is empty before adding coffee.
Return to the recipe
Add coffee, tare the scale if used, and pour according to the recipe. A gooseneck can help place and pace the stream.
Do not rest the hot kettle where its base or body can damage the counter.
Safety note: Keep the dripper stable on a compatible vessel and never hold it in your hand while pouring hot water.
