Finish the first pour
Return the kettle to a stable dry surface or its base as directed. Keep the spout pointed away from people and let steam clear before touching the lid.
Do not balance a hot kettle on the counter edge while preparing the refill.

Control the lid, steam, grip, water level, counter path, and base whenever another batch is needed.
Open and refill deliberately
Switch off and remove the kettle from the base. Use the designated lid control, keep your face and hand out of the steam path, and add cold water within the fill marks.
Dry drips from the exterior and base area before reconnecting.
Reseat and restart
Close the lid fully, check the handle grip, and place the kettle squarely on the base. Select the next target and remain aware of the hot body.
If the kettle shut off unexpectedly or ran dry, let it cool and follow its reset instructions instead of forcing an immediate restart.
Safety note: Never add water through a narrow opening if the manual requires the lid to be opened, and never place a wet kettle on a powered base.
